EHYT has approximately 60 employee, with an annual budget of some EUR 5 million. In addition to staff at our central offices, we have 12 regional staff members working across Finland.
At EHYT, we do not provide direct care or treatment for people suffering from substance abuse but focus instead on preventing the harm caused by alcohol, drugs, tobacco and gambling. We carry out our work on a one-to-one basis, through school visits, parents’ evenings, substance-free social spaces and social media; in communities, including schools, workplaces, municipalities and student organisations, as well as nationally, through our lobbying activities. Common job titles at EHYT include “trainer”, “special advisor” and “online educator”. EHYT receives financial support from the Ministry of Social Affairs through Funding Centre for Social Welfare and Health Organisations (STEA).
